If I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your revolution.

— Emma Goldman

The Studio is the area of the Wild Ideas site that deals with culture and creativity. The impulse to create could be said, at its heart, to be all about wildness: about breaking rules, transcending boundaries, taking things in new and different directions. Certainly, creativity can be seduced into the service of the status quo, as we see in pop culture and mainstream media, but I do not think that it can ever be entirely domesticated.

The Studio can be viewed as a stand-alone site, but it is also part of a larger entity called Wild Ideas, an online celebration of the Wild in all its forms, from the familiar sense of wilderness and wild nature, to looser interpretations in the contexts of spirituality, sexuality, politics and consciousness. This area was the last one to be added to this site in its previous incarnation, and it is still fairly underdeveloped, but it will be expanding with time.

Wild Ideas has just undergone a major redesign and restructuring, and may still be a little rough around the edges. Please bear with us as we get things sorted out.
